Dear sir/Mme.,
We are the organizers of International Euro Arab Film Festival AMAL which VI edition will be held from the 25 to the 31st of next month of October in Santiago de Compostela (Spain).
This Festival has started in 2003 as the first competitive festival of this kind in Spain. To AMAL Festival arrive works from all over the world, produced or co-produced by Arabs, or with a topic related to Arab world or culture. Most of the Arab countries or the Arab communities in Europe or America are represented at our Festival. The works reflect a compromised cinema, not only with their cause, but with social changes into the Arab society, women role, and social differences, among others.
Recently we have started to receive submissions for participating in next edition of the festival and we would be grateful if you could publish this OPEN CALL in your web site, so that filmmakers can see it and participate. The submissions deadline is June 30.
Please find hereby attached the Open Call for the Festival; you can also get more information about us through our web site and do not hesitate to contact us again for further information.
The official showing has three sections: Featured Film, Short Film and Documentary.
The jury shall choose three candidates for each of the categories to be awarded and shall hand over the following
prizes:
Best long fiction film 5.000€
Best documentary 3.500€
Best short fiction film 1.200€
Best short documentary 1.200€
Best director 4.000€
Best female actor Trophy
BestTr male actor ophy
Only one of these prizes can be ex-aequo.
Likewise, the Public's Award shall also be announced, this will be decided by popular vote, and the prize is as following:
Amal Award from the Public 1.500€
